LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The country’s leading smartphone service provider Airtel and National Bank of Malawi on Thursday excited their customers with mobile banking partnership.

In the partnership, Airtel Money and National Bank MO626 ice platforms are now officially linked that customers can transfer funds instantly.

Customers will transfer funds by just dialing Airtel Money code (*211#) and National Bank MO626 (*626#) to enjoy the service without form registration.

Airtel Money Head Chris Sukasuka told the new conference at its headquarters in the capital Lilongwe that the innovation brings more financial freedom and convenient on the company’s customers.

“Our focus over the past recent years has been on expanding our Airtel money  footprint through linkages with different retail, utility and banking platforms hence today’s partnership with National Bank of Malawi,” excited Sukasuka.

William Kaunda-National Bank Head of Card and E-Payment disclosed that fees for sending Airtel Money to the bank is 2.5 percent.

“This service is only available at National Bank of Malawi where customers do not need to register or link an account with a wallet,” assures Kaunda.

The partnership with National Bank’s MO626 ice platform brings the total number of banks that have integrated with the Airtel money platform to six.
