MZUZU (MaraviPost) — There was drama in the country’s top flight league—the TNM Super League—on Saturday as the teams which are fighting for relegation mounted a spirited performance to escape relegation and those battling for championship have struggled to maintain their pace.
Three teams which are at the bottom of the TNM super league, Mzuni FC, FISD FC and Dedza Young Soccer FC registered their wins.
Mzuni Fc mercilessly demolished Be forward Wanderers FC by 3-0 at Mzuzu stadium while the title contenders Blue Eagles has kissed bye-bye to their chances of pressuring the Leaders Bullets FC in the race after their defeat from the Pofera Jegwe’s boys, Dedza Young Soccer 1-0 at Dedza stadium.
Kamuzu Barracks has started its tour in Southern region with a loss from the hands of the struggling FISD Wizards 1-0 at Kalulu stadium.
In other fixture, Red Lions registered a loss with a bunch of goals 4-1 in the hands of Civo at Civo stadium in Lilongwe.
Meanwhile, Super League of Malawi (SULOM) during their extra-ordinary meeting in Lilongwe has resolved that the super league should be featuring 16 teams and not 15 teams as it has been the case. Against this background, SULOM has further resolved that two bottom teams in the super league this season will face the chop from Super League so as to make the number to 16 when the three teams join from the lower league this season.
