LILONGWE--Upcoming artist NesNes Blackchild da Singjay is slowly but surely making it big with his inspiring and sensational music.
The 25 year is currently working on an album titled “Mulendo” which is being recorded at SU and Chit Chat records in Lilongwe.
NesNes whose real name is Kelvin Khuzumba told Malawi News Agency that “my album will have 12 songs and I will also incorporate some 3 singles I did some time just to spice up the album.”
According to the dancehall artist, he has recorded over 30 songs since 2007 but failed to come out with an album because of lack of sponsors.
He now has a manager, Janta, and he signed a two-year contract with SU records which he says will end this year.
NesNes who says he started singing in 2006 but recorded his first song in 2007 admits the hardships that new musicians face to make it the tough music industry.
“It's very hard and challenging for an upcoming musician like me to make a breakthrough and it is even harder just to organise shows, but I am working very hard and I believe I will make it,” he explained.
Some of the songs in the yet to be released album include “Wina watenga” which tells an ex-lover to leave him alone because he has found new love.
The artist has other good songs like, Real Love, Palibe Wina, If you are Leaving and Kill Me Baby.
“My music speaks to me; I write songs just when I hear a beat, people must watch out for NesNes as he is the new kid in the block who has come to stay," he said.
