Malawian artists to fundraise for medical drugs on Valentine’s

MZUZU--Following the medical drug crisis which has hit the country, some musicians have organized a show to generate funds for drugs.

The musicians are scheduled to perform Thursday evening at Steers garden in a Valentine charity concert in Malawi’s commercial city of Blantyre.

Organised by an organisation called Together for Life foundation, the show is expected to have performances from acoustic gurus Edgar ndi Davis, Giddes Chalamanda, Maskal and the three E-Wallet finalists.

Health centres in Blantyre and Chiradzulu districts will receive the assistance.

The event is also expected to give a different picture of Valentine’s Day, a day lovers show affection for each other.

A founding member of Together for Life told the local media that the event has been the foundation’s annual event for the past five years with the aim of reaching out to the community.

Last year they also had a similar function and they raised money for the cancer ward at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital.

Together for Life foundation is a group of young professionals who among other professionals include members of parliament, bankers and lawyers.
