MZUZU--Strange! Medical documents that are supposed to guide doctors on how to complete treatment on Malawi gospel artist Geoffrey Zigoma are missing at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH).
The gospel artist, diagnosed with cancer about three years ago, confirmed the development in interview with The Nation.
But QECH hospital administrator Themba Mhango said he wasn't aware of the missing medication claiming Zigoma's wife had collected the file and went away with it.
Zigoma, however, argues that the file was taken so he could make extra copies of the documents to enable him follow up on his missing medicines.
According to Zigoma, he is supposed to complete his chemotherapy treatment in the country after undergoing treatment on a government ticket last year in India.
"I was given enough medicine to last me three circles of chemotherapy [in India] and I'd been advised to deposit it with a local hospital which I did," he said.
But Zigoma confessed that he has been sent back several times at the hospital in the past week as the medical personnel there claims there's no medicine for him.
"They kept on sending me back and all documents that I brought with me from India are missing," claimed Zigoma.
