LILONGWE-(MaraviPost). The Jamaican reggae outfit, Morgan Family has promised a superb performance strictly on roots reggae music for the concert slated April 30 at Civil stadium in the capital Lilongwe.

The assurance comes barely some months after the general public expressed sadness over the grouping’s last year’s show whereby it used CD loaded music instead of live band which the group disputed the accusation that it was not part of the agreement with that time’s event organizers.

Following Malawians dissatisfaction over the reggae outfit’s performance, Morgan Family promised the angril patrons in the country that the grouping will come back to Malawi to fill the gap it left with full band for the live performance.

Addressing the news conference on Thursday, in the capital Lilongwe,Morgan Heritage comprise of Jemere, Gramps, Peter, Mojo and Justice assured reggae music fans for an outstanding strictly roots reggae music to uplift their souls, body and mind.

Morgan Family’s leader Gramps disputed the claims that the grouping was in the country out of pressure owing to last year’s accusation saying Malawi was an idea destination for their music as they share the same African blood.

“We are here in Malawi not by force but the love we have for our brothers and sisters. We have been in the West Africa why not sharing the same love with our brothers and sisters in southern part of Africa. Malawi is a darling to us otherwise we could choose to visit and performe in other countries this time around based on the accusation we got from last year’s performance.

“Although we are in Jamaica, the grouping share the same root with African people hence regular visits to the continent as we have in Kenya, Senegal, Cameroon, Ethiopia for the same brotherhood spirit . We want to uplift the upcoming reggae artists in Africa, Malawi inclusive”, assures Gramps.

Echoing on the same, Peter, the second in-in charge of the grouping rule out escalation of Marijuana or weed smoking during the show as the reggae artists are said to be associated with the illicit drugs saying none of their members takes Marijuana.

“We have come with the full band to give Malawians the best to uplift their mind, soul and body with outstanding performance on our times.

The band is not associated with weed smoking as its a personal choice which is wrong to attach any Rasta with such illicit drug. We are here to cherish the love with people of Malawi as it’s a Warm Heart of Africa”, said Peter.

The Maravi Post later caught up with Borne African of Borne African Production, the main organizer saying the show will be in the
afternoon as the band is expected to be on stage around 17:00 hours with three hours of performance.

“Morgan Family is here to give their best performance as they have come with the full band and expected to be on stage around 5pm for about three hours dishing out their music. We need to support the concert as it will give good profile for Malawi internationally”, urges Borne African currently residing in South Africa.
