MZUZU (MaraPost) — With just a day to go before the commencement of Malawi School Certificate Examinations (MSCE), rumours are rife on social media that this year’s national examinations have leaked.
Individuals claim that the exams are being sold by vendors in Malawi’s capital, Lilongwe.
During MIJ FM’s phone-in Democracy Forum programme on Monday evening, callers said they’d seen some of the examination questions. A parent calling from Area 14 in Lilongwe claimed to have received an SMS message from a candidate in Blantyre who was unhappy that some on his colleagues were busy discussing the leaked examination.
But a spokesperson for Malawi National Examination Board (Maneb) expressed ignorance on the development. He told MIJ FM that Maneb had launched an investigation and hoped to have answers soon.
Sources tell MaraPost that the following are some of the questions:
MATHEMATICS PAPER 1
11 (a) Factorise the expression 8g + (f+2g) + 4f (3 marks)
(b) Find the Value of the constant (c) in the expression y = mx + c, if (x, y) = (4, -5) and the gradient is -3/2 (4 marks)
MaraPost can’t vouch for the accuracy of this claim.
