Malawi President Peter Mutharika, on Monday expressed gratidue for the reception he is receiving on his current tour to Northern Region of the country.
Writing on a Facebook page that bears his name Mutharika writes:
“Let me wholeheartedly thank the people of the Northern Region for the warm reception accorded to me and the First Lady upon arrival in the beautiful green city of Mzuzu.”
He writes it was pleasing to see hundreds of people lining up to welcome him and his party. He was also pleased to note that the ruling Democratic Progressive Party is getting stronger and stronger in the Northern Region.
Peter Mutharika promised that the Government will continue to distribute development initiatives equitably across the nation.
The same goes with political appointments, in which the President highlights is at 37 percent of all the appointments he has made are of people from the Northern Region.
“Together as Malawians we will develop this nation, only when we work together and stop looking at tribal and geographical lines,” said the President.
