BLANTYRE—Blantyre Police are searching for an 18-year-old man murder suspect.

The suspect, Maganizo Mtambo, had quarreled with his mother Erico Mtambo, 57, on the day material day before he allegedly assaulted her.

She was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was admitted until she died.

“Postmortem results show that Mrs. Erico Mabuka Mtambo died due to severe head and spinal injuries,” said Blantyre Police publicist Lameck Thembachako.

He said the suspect disappeared the very same day he allegedly committed the offence and his whereabouts aren't yet known.

“It is against this background that we are asking the public to bring forward the whereabouts of the suspect to nay nearest police station,” he added.

The victim hailed from Kameza village, traditional authority Machinjiri in Blantyre.
