MZUZU--TNM super league battle for supremacy has taken another thrilling turn following the pledge by patron of Epac F.C Dean Jossiah to double his players’ pay if they will thrash Silver Strikers and Big Bullets. The two teams are the only teams which are fighting for the country’s elite championship.
The development comes amidst speculations that Epac will likely be lenient with Silver Strikers considering the fact that Epac uses Silver ground and at the same time they are from the same city.
“I have done this to raise the morale of the players. I’m not happy with the match fixing speculations that are going around about our for Saturday’s game against Silver Strikers.
“People should expect competitive games in our remaining assignments against Silver Strikers and Bullets. We will fight tooth and nail so as to collect maximum six points from the two games” Jossiah said in an interview with local media.
Epac will play against Silver Strikers on Saturday at the Bankers’ back yard in Malawi’s capital, Lilongwe.
Meanwhile the ghost of match-fixing is haunting Malawi TNM super league with Blantyre United technical director Lawson Nakoma claiming his four players were involved in match fixing in their 5-0 defeat to title contenders Silver Strikers.
