BLANTYRE –Administrators of TNM top flight league, the Super League of Malawi (Sulom) have slapped Silver Strikers with a K1.1 million fine following violence which erupted during their 1-1 draw match against Epac FC at Silver Stadium on Saturday.
Epac FC, as a visiting team, have been ordered to K150,000. The body’s disciplinary hearing committee faulted the bankers for failing to control their executive committee member, Denis Kachinkho and other supporters, who invaded the pitch during the game.
The committee condemned the conduct of Kachinkho, Noah Rodgers and Dan Mhango and violence, saying violence and such conduct scare away football sponsors in the country and put football in disrepute.
As such, Kachinkho has been banned from take part in all football and related activities for one year, while the bankers will play their two remaining games at neutral ground as they have also been given a six month home ban.
