Former acting Attorney General Sally Yates and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, testified on Monday May 8, shedding light to a Senate subcommittee in Washington. It was a high-profile hearing on Russian meddling into the US 2016 election. The meddling analysts claim tipped Mr. Trump to win the elections against former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton.
Two days later Wednesday, May 10, several activities-to-watch, took place. First Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, with President Trump. accompanied by the Russian Ambassador to the US (the official at the center of Flynn being fired and attorney general Session recusing himself from the US government probe into the Russian meddling). The previous day, Trump made headlines with his abrupt firing of FBI Director James Comey, the man leading a federal investigation into the Trump campaign’s alleged ties to Russia. The move drew comparisons to former President Richard Nixon, who also fired the man leading an investigation into his associates’ actions. Kissinger was secretary of state under Nixon.
The next day on Thursday, May 11, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, expressed frustration at how the White House handled the James Comey dismissal and used his reputation as cover for how it was done, sources familiar with the matter told CNN. However,Mtheto paper trail to the FBI director Comey losing his job, starts with his letter to his boss, Attorney General Jeff Sessions; Mr Session’s letter to the President Trump culminated in POTUS Trump writing the dismissal later that was delivered to the fair director by a security guard.
Former FBI Director James Comey was captured lounging about at his home in McLean, Virginia, on Wednesday, May 10. His dismissed from the FBI directorship, the White House said, was on the recommendation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. They cited Comey’s handling of the probe into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, a controversy that many believe helped Trump defeat Clinton in the 2016 election. However this theory has been debunked, and other reasons are flying around by the Trump aides.
Deputy FBI director is now Acting FBI Director, Andrew McCabe. On Thursday, he testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee, and said he rejected assertions by the White House that FBI employees had lost faith in James Comey. He also said there has been no effort to impede the FBI’s investigation into Russian interference in the election, but he vowed to inform a Senate panel if the White House tried to intervene.
Onto America’s health: a private citizen’s loud and robust outburst is set to become the clarion call on the Trump administration to to proceed with the new health care bill that is set to replace the repealed Obama care, known as the Affordable Care Act. Paul Ziegler yelled throughout his comments to US Rep. Tom MacArthur, yelling a question during a town hall meeting in Willingboro, New Jersey, on Wednesday, May 10. MacArthur, who played a central role in resurrecting the GOP’s efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare in the House, faced an explosive crowd in a forum that lasted more than four hours. Throughout the night, MacArthur tried to assure voters that his bill offered adequate protections for people with pre-existing conditions, but constituents struggled to accept his answers.
