MANGOCHI-(MaraviPost)-Two Malawian men in the lakeshore district of Mangochi have been arrested for being found with Medical drugs without license.
Mangochi Police Station deputy Spokesperson, Amina Tepani Daudi has identified the two suspects as Juma Adam and Tenson Mulonda, 68 years old, on Sunday, around 14:00hours were selling medical drugs at Ntafu Trading Centre in the district.
Daudi said following the tip from the general public, the rushed to the place and found the suspects selling assorted medical drugs in their shops.
The police publicist the confiscated medical drugs worth MK150,000.00 including 1 bottle of Praziquanted 600mg 1000 tablets, 2 bottles Abendazole 2045 tablets, 1 bottle of Aspirin 1000 tablets, 11 syringes, 335 capsules of Doxycline, 195 capsules of lndocid, 58 capsules of Amoxycline , 9 packets of Cotrim, 29 capsules of ethromycin, 115 capsules of Chrolophenical, 2 tubes of cotrileb ointment, 104 tablets of lron, 43 capsules of Penibritan, 60 tablets of Panado, 69 tablets of Bacterim, 1 carton of condoms.
“Both were immediately arrested and the police officers also seized the medical drugs. They will appear before court to answer the charge of Found in Possession of Medical drugs without license which is contrary to section 45 as read with section 65 of Pharmacy Medicines and Poisons board”, said Daudi
Both suspects hail from Mchiza Village Traditional Authority (T.A) Mponda in Mangochi district.
