2022 TNM Super League: Rumphi leopards upbeat to recover from home defeat

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Rookies, the leopards of Chikulamayembe’s Rumphi United have vowed to recover from their home defeat against their fellow debutants in the elite league Dedza Dynamos at home as the team is traveling to Lilongwe weekend.

The Leopards have two crucial assignments in the Central region as they are expected to meet Silver Strikers FC at Silver Stadium on Saturday, March 26, 2022 before traveling to Nankhaka to date the High Flying Eagles who won their first encounter against their rivals MAFCO FC away at Chitowe Stadium last Sunday.

Rumphi United itching for wins

Coach for Rumphi United FC’ Gilbert Chirwa has shown some optimism of doing better and get best results in the capital Lilongwe while acknowledging he is meeting tough sides.

Chirwa hinted the preparations have been going on very well and his boys looks ready for the fight on Saturday and Sunday.

“We know for sure these are different games altogether,the boys are responding well at the training sessions and will put grant performance to bring back good results.

“This is league not cup games hence forget about last weekend result. People should expect to witness good display,” says Chirwa.

Blue Eagles FC Coach Eliah Kananji observes that the game will be crucial playing unknown team, Rumphi United, who have just been promoted.

Kananji however warned his charges not to underrate the rookies but rather to put the grand performance on Sunday.

“We will be aiming at getting three points which will boost our morale. Luwiro lapamchenga ndikuyambira limodzi hence we have to get the maximum points to get going.

“We will be missing Micium Mhone who is down with Malaria while Captain Schumacher Kuwali is still under assessment as he is coming from injury”, Kananji said.

Rumphi United lost by two goals to nil at home Rumphi Stadium against Dedza Dynamos, Blue Eagles FC collected maximum three points away at Chitowe over MAFCO FC after a one nil victory, the goal scored by new catch Arthur Moffat.

Silver Strikers FC will be looking for the first three points of the season after being beaten one nil by Red Lions away in Balaka at Balaka Stadium the lone goal scored by Royal Bokosi.
