2023 Malawi’s PSLCE, JCE exams are out

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Ministry of Education in conjunction with Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) has today released the 2023 Primary School Leaving Certificate (PSLCE) Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) examinations.

Addressing the news Making the opening remarks at a press conference in the capital Lilongwe on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, Minister of Education, Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima, hailed MANEB for releasing the exams in time.

“This is the fourth time we are having leakage-free exams in Malawi since the re-administered MSCE examinations in 2020.

“As a ministry, we are very proud of this timely release of the results, ” Wirima added.

Summary of the results:

2023 JCE results:
168, 219 sat for examinations and 122, 219 have passed representing a pass rate of 72.65%, a slight decline from 73.07 % of 2022.

The top 10 performing districts in descending order are as follows: Likoma, Phalombe, Zomba Urban, Zomba Rural, Chitipa, Mulanje, Ntchisi, Mzuzu City, Karonga and Dedza

2023 PSLCE results:

The number of candidates who sat for the PSLCE examinations is 267, 330.

Out of these candidates, 234, 644 have passed representing 87.77 %, an improvement from the 2022 pass rate which was 83. 24%.

Ranking of ten performing districts in descending order is as follows: Nkhata Bay, Zomba Urban, Rumphi, Mzuzu City, Phalombe, Likoma, Zomba Rural, Mulanje, Dedza and Thyolo
