LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The match awaited Kumbali Live Concert a musical property sponsored by Standard Bank Plc has started with a bang on Saturday evening at Kumbali Lodge in the capital Lilongwe.
Lilongwe music lovers have already started feeling the vibe of the concert.
Since its inception in 2023, the Kumbali Live Concert aims to bring a fusion of local and international musicians on one big stage in a recluse eco-tourism location in Lilongwe.
Standard Bank has increased its sponsorship from K30 million in 2023 to MK40 million in 2024
About the 2024 Kumbali Live Concert, Standard Bank’s Head of Brand & Marketing Tamanda N’gombe said; “At Standard Bank, we are committed to fostering cultural exchange, promotion of local talent, and providing a platform for artists to showcase their work.”

According to the concept paper, Kumbali Lodge and Castle—often a cave for international and Hollywood A-List celebrities, like Madonna offers the ideal backdrop and venue
The concert is a partnership between hospitality company Kumbali Ltd and Lilongwe-based Malawian music production and promotion enterprises who include George Kalukusha
Standard Bank’s sponsorship falls in line with its promotion of the arts and culture industry under its “Joy on the Arts” initiative.
The “Joy on the Arts” initiative promotes various forms of cross-cutting arts such as music, theatre, visual arts, painting, sculpture, photography, and poetry (spoken word) and tourism
In its second year, the 2024 concert features another South African musician in Simphiwe Majowe Nhlangulela, aka Simmy
This year, the line up of Malawian contemporary artists includes George Kalukusha, Praise Umali and Eli Njuchi
