Thugs burn down MP Jessie Kabwira’s car to ashes at LL Golf Club

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP)s Spokesperson Jessie Kabwira has on Wednesday night her Fortuner car burnt to ashes by unknown thugs at Lilongwe Golf Club.

The incident happened when Kabwira was attending the meeting within Golf Club premises.

The car was set ablaze with a petrol bomb some 10 minutes after she went into the clubs meeting room.

The development comes at the heels of two folding events; recent internal squabbles in MCP the temptation would be to rush to conclude that this has been internally orchestrated.

The district chairmen from the whole Southern Region convened a press briefing Tuesday at Grace Bandawe where they asked Chakwera to step down and leave the party to someone with good leadership skills.

While the other version is also on the recent Kabwira fierce critical of President Peter Mutharika’s administration which according to MCP officials it was the work of ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) aimed at silencing Kabwira.

DPP has a history of torching cars of critics even ballots papers that could take advantage of the current internal squabbles within MCP allegedly between Chakwera and Kabwira.

Therefore, the thugs might mastermind this act just to implicate the MCP leader that is all behind the barbaric act.

Dr. Kabwira told The Maravi Post that she will not be able to shed more information on what’s behind her cars attack saying the police were conducting preliminary investigations on the incident.
