LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The country’s graft bursting agency Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 arrested Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) Member of Parliament (MP) for Mzimba North, Yeremia Chihana on account that he abused his office.

A warrant of arrest issued by the Resident Magistrate Court in Mzuzu shows that Chihana is reasonably suspected of having committed the offence of misuse of public officer contrary to Section 25B (1) of the Corrupt Practices Act.

Chihana is also accused of failure to declare interest contrary to Section 25D (2) of the Corrupt Practices Act and Money Laundering and contrary to Section 42 (2)(C ) of the Financial Crimes Act.

Meanwhile, he is on his way to Mzuzu where he will be formally charged and appear before court.
