Leading mobile telecommunications operator Airtel Malawi maintains its pace of leadership in Malawi after being accorded marketing game changer brand and TV commercial of the year awards courtesy of CIM’s Marketing Excellence Awards at an annual gala night that took place at Ryalls Hotel in Blantyre.
According to CIM, Airtel was awarded the game changer award for setting the pace in the marketing circles through stimulating new ways of thinking and generation of marketing ideas for local consumption.
“The category aimed at creating a competitive platform for marketers to come up with non-conventional and non-traditional means of executing marketing campaigns,” reads a statement from CIM.
According to CIM, Airtel’s ‘Muli Bwanji?’ won hearts of judges to scoop the 2014 TV commercial of the year as it creatively delivered brand communications.
Airtel’s Brand and Communications Manager Isabel Kachinjika said it was an honour to be recognised and awarded in the two categories.
“At Airtel, we are passionate about delivering innovative and relevant initiatives to our customers and that is achieved by having a keen appreciation of what matters most to our customers and delivering campaigns in line with their aspirations,” said Kachinjika adding that Airtel was committed to continue engaging customers in order to deliver even more excellence in the years to come.
During the event, roofhouse Ogilvy maintained its dominance as it was again given the advertising agency of the year award.
