Airtel Trace Music Star Samuel Mjura Mkandawire off to Kenya for the Pan African final

Malawi’s flag carrier in the Airtel Trace Music Star Samuel Mjura Mkandawire Tuesday left for Kenya where he will represents the country at the Pan African final.

“I have watched some of my competitors performing, they are good but I haven’t seen someone who is wow. To my fans, I say thank you for voting for me, you have done your part and I will do mine to the best of my ability but be assured that I will not disappoint you,” he said.

 

He however expressed worry on the votes saying he was on a disadvantaged position taking into consideration that some countries are bigger than Malawi.

“That aside, I will have to make sure that I win in singing session and with that plus the votes I will get, I will definitely win,” he said.

There is a local prize comprising of USD 50,000 kwacha equivalent to be won by the country winner.

The Grand prize includes a recording contract with Universal music, a trip to the US to be mentored by an A list American Music Celebrity, Akon and Production of their own music video.

About 13 artists are expected to battle it out during the finals.
