Chithyola: 2025-2026 National budget pegged at MK8.5 trillion

LILONGWE (Maravipost) The Minister of Finance has assured Malawians that essential services in health services, including ARVS, will not be affected by the current proposed budget.

Minister of Finance Simplex Chithyola told a journalist on Friday, February 28th that a joint fund for the health sector was being established with the budget of K741.05 billion, representing 9.2 percent of the total national budget.

According to him, the importance of investing in health should not be overemphasized.

He elaborated on the implementation of the financial year 2025-2026 to protect essential health services.

He added that the development of Mponela Community Hospital will enhance wellbeing.

He lamented that the budget will also  Construct 55 Health Posts and improve.

He therefore said the Government is optimistic that despite the economy is recovering and will surely recover on the recovery trajectory due to their focus on enhancing production, despite the strategic challenges that have been encountered
