LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The second coming for Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika (APM) into reins of power since September 2025 has proven to be an ideal for Malawians.
Malawians suffered from chronicle hunger including unstable good and services daily before October 2025.
This is the reason APM knew from the word go that he is taking over an economy which is broken.
Mutharika carried a system which was tired of being pressed in the name of ‘Kuphulitsa zinthupsa’ and ‘Kuwongola mafupa”.
APM clearly knew that the road towards restoration will not be easy and he made it clear that it all has to start from the Presidency, Cabinet and down to the last dot.
Within a very short period, Malawians began to see real change including cheap food, low inflation and dropping of interest rates at commercial banks.
Eight months yes! But we can all be assured that we have taken the right direction as a country.
Unity of purpose and progressive thinking is all we need.
The Malawi leader has even made sure that austerity measures are effective; no globaltrotting, unnecessary local and international trips that used to drain public resources.
Mutharika is not a ceremonial president to jumps from one public function to another.
APM is making sure that the presidency does not consume resources unnecessarily hence deligating cabinet ministers including opening of trade fairs, tobacco marketing season, Kamuzu Day celebrations.
Mutharika is unifying the nation into one including regular cabinet meetings for ministerial work progress and updates.
