Apostle Kawinga ministries aids Ntchisi farmers with solar-powered irrigation systems torwards food security boost

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Salvation for All Ministries Foundation International (SFAMI), led by Apostle Clifford Kawinga, has launched a solar-powered irrigation initiative aimed at supporting local farmers in Ntchisi District.

The program, which also includes the distribution of 50 bags of farm inputs to each beneficiary, is set to benefit over 200 farmers from the areas of Senior Chief Chawanda and Senior Chief Kalumo.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Apostle Kawinga said the initiative seeks to empower smallholder farmers to enhance agricultural productivity and strengthen food security through sustainable irrigation systems.

“We believe in transforming lives through practical support. With these solar-powered irrigation systems, farmers will be able to irrigate their crops efficiently, even during dry seasons,” said Apostle Kawinga

Chairperson for Chonkho Veronica Manuel expressed her gratitude, noting that the new system would greatly ease the burden of water pumping for irrigation.

“This development will make our farming much easier and more productive. We are truly grateful for this support,” she said.

In their remarks, both Senior Chief Chawanda and Senior Chief Kalumo commended SFAMI for the initiative, noting that it will enable farmers to grow crops all year round instead of relying solely on rain-fed agriculture.

They also urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment for their personal and community benefit.

The project is expected to significantly boost crop yields, improve livelihoods, and contribute to economic growth within the beneficiary communities.
