AU appoints Mutharika as member of the New Alliance for Food Security, Nutrition and the Grow African Partnership

Malawi President Peter Mutharika has been appointed to serve as a Member of the Leadership Council of the New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition and the Grow African Partnership. 

The Appointment Letter from His Excellency Erastus Mwencha, the Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission addressed to President Mutharika says the New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition and the Grow African Partnership are initiatives set up by the G7 and African Governments, and the Private Sector respectively.

 

 

The aim of the two Initiatives is to advance progress towards the achievement of the goals of the Comprehensive African Agricultural Development Program (CAADP).

 

The Leadership Council represents transition of control of the two initiatives to the African Union Commission and NEPAD.

 

 Meanwhile, President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has accepted the appointment from the African Union Commission to serve as a Member of the Leadership Council of the New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition and the Grow African Partnership.
