LILONGWE, Malawi – 18 January 2015 (MaraviPost):The Director General of MBC, Benson Tembo has been seconded to MACRA as Technical Advisor on digital migration with immediate effect.

In an interview with MBC’s Hassan Goba, Tembo who bid farewell to the top management officials on Friday, said he would still be part of the national broadcaster while attached to MACRA.

“I called on all Directors and Controllers of Malawi Broadcasting Corporation to bid my farewell to them that I am leaving MBC for another assignment that I have been given by the government,” Tembo said.

“It is a secondment. I am being seconded to Macra so that means partly I am part of MBC but I will be with Macra where I will be advising on digital migration.”

He disclosed that the meeting with Directors and Controllers of various departments of the station was made for them to hear from the horse’s mouth of his impending departure.

“I thought it was important for me to tell them so that they don’t get it from other sources but from me personally because that helps a lot to avoid going around rumour mongering,” he said.
