……..Buluma claims MCP cadres demands fuel supply offers at NOCMA
BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Drama! President Lazarus Chakwera’s Tonse Alliance government will never ran out shame and scandals amid economic mess just two years in power.
Secretary to the President and Cabinet (SPC) Colleen Zamba has been caught sleeping on duty when she failed to act on Office of Ombudsman’s determination on Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Helen Buluma at National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA).
Civil Society Organisation (CSOs) dared Chakwera to fire Buluma but failed to do so until on November 14, 2022 Buluma tendered her resignation citing numerous pressure from Chakwera’s Malawi Congress Party (MCP) zealots to take control of fuel supplies to NOCMA without following legal procurement procedures.
But in a letter, Buluma has cited undue pressure from her superiors and politicians in the government to bring new fuel suppliers on the list of suppliers in an effort to counter the existing fuel crisis in the country as the main reason for her resignation.
Barely a day after Buluma resigned, without shame, Zamba came up with a letter of terminating Buluma’s contract.
Surprisingly, the same Zamba gave Buluma four months contract till December 2022 praising her for a good job at NOCMA.
This speaks volumes on how Chakwera’s Tonse government is completely incompetent to run state affairs.
Currently, Chakwera is failing to fix self-made economic mess coupled with high cost of living, forex and fuel, drugs shortages and among others.
Instead, Chakwera opts for petty local and international trips that cost Malawians huge some of kwacha for no meaningful returns.
