Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital to drill boreholes! Yes you read it right! This is right at the centre of what we call our commercial city, Blantyre!
The water situation in the city is so bad that a referral hospital has to drill boreholes to sustain hospital operations during the numerous times that the hospital doesn’t have running water from the Blantyre Water Board systems.
You would think we are in the Stone Age! Malawi is a very sad country. Our priorities are upside down. Our corruption is amazing. Our lack of concern for basic needs is mind-boggling!
Just last week we spent over 300 million Kwacha celebrating independence! We have been doing this for that last 51 years and we will do it for next million years! Yet we can’t manage to feed ourselves.
We can’t have uninterrupted water or electricity supply. We are a nation without direction.
We prefer spending money on a party celebrating ‘passing of a budget’. We prefer spending money on a ‘development rally’ to castigate political opponents.
I don’t understand how common citizens tolerate such nonsense. This country needs a total revolution to emancipate it from mediocrity of terrifying proportions. I refuse to believe that Malawi deserves such mediocrity till the end of time. Wake up Malawi
