Addis Ababa, 31 January 2015 – The 26th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council elected, on 28th of January 2015, at the African Union (AU) Headquarters, members of some Organs of the AU. These Organs are: the African Union Advisory Board on Corruption and the African Union Commission on International Law (AUCIL). The Executive Council also elected the President and Vice-President of the Pan African University Council (PAU) as well as the Host Country for its Rectorate. Angry Malawian mob kills suspected thief in Mzimba
Nkhotakota, January 30: A man identified as Petros Kamanga of Kabua Village in the area of T/A Khosolo in Mzimba has been murdered by a mob after being suspected of a thief.
Nkhunga Police Spokesperson Sub-inspector Laban Makalani said the man is alleged to have trespassed into Kazirila sugarcane field while armed with a panga knife in order to steal tyres of an irrigation pivot.

Comrade Robert Mugabe assumes African Union leadership
Zimbabwe president calls on Africa to harness resources for its own ends as members urged to tackle infrastructure, climate change, conflict and Ebola Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe’s 90-year-old president, has assumed the chairmanship of the African Union (AU) with a call for members to improve infrastructure and tackle climate change, conflict and Ebola, and with a familiar rallying cry that Africa’s wealth belongs to Africa and not “imperialists and colonialists”.
The veteran leader, who was elected head of the union on Friday, replaces President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, of Mauritania.
“By electing me to preside over this august body, with full knowledge of the onerous responsibility that lies ahead, I humbly accept your collective decision,” Mugabe told the AU summit in Addis Ababa.

Lilongwe, January 30, 2015: Not only once, not twice, but thrice did Sipe go for auditions but was not successful yet she never gave up until the fourth time when she was picked to represent Malawi in Big Brother Africa Hotshots 2014.
“I am not a person who gives up, it just has to happen. If I wasn’t successful last year I would have tried again this year,” she said.
Born Siphelire Chitambo but popularly known as Sipe, after Big Brother Africa Hotshots she has now opened Black Rose Modeling Agency. The Agency will run promotions for companies, events, Television (TV) commercials, billboards and video vixens who will be acting in music videos.

Malawian Robert Budala in custody for sodomizing 12-year-old boy
Nkhotakota, January 30, 2015: A 24-year-old man is in police custody at Nkhunga Police Station in Dwangwa for allegedly having sex with a 12-year-old boy.
Nkhunga Police Spokesperson Sub-inspector Laban Makalani said Robert Budala is alleged to have committed sodomy twice during separate occasions in the month of December, 2014.

Deluge of rainfall in Malawi has rendered part of Mangochi – Liwonde road impassable
Mangochi, January 30, 2015(MaraviPost): Heavy rains have cut-off a section of the Mangochi – Liwonde road, inconveniencing motorists and all other road users, the Roads Authority has confirmed.
The Authority’s Public Relations Officer, Portia Kajanga confirmed the development in an interview with Media. She said the affected area was Changali, the middle section of the 70kilometres stretch.
