UTM Vice President for the Centre, Hellen Chabunya, has taken to her Facebook page to share reflections on the recently concluded campaign for Lilongwe Bwaila Constituency.

She expressed gratitude to her supporters, stating, “Dear TeamHellen, thank you for believing in me.”

Chabunya emphasized that the dedication and encouragement from her team gave her the strength to put up a strong fight for the constituency.

She noted that while her team won many polling centers in Mbidzi Ward and one center in Chinsapo Ward, irregularities at two centers in Chinsapo undermined the will of the people.

She said that they now await the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) to make a determination on the way forward.

Chabunya highlighted that, with God’s guidance, they ran a race she is very proud of, stressing that they fought with courage and integrity.

She described this effort as a victory in itself, irrespective of the final results.

She affirmed her solidarity with her colleagues, Hon. Mike Chinzukila (DPP) and Hon. Henry Muyaya (Independent), in their resolve to ensure that the will of the people of Lilongwe Bwaila Constituency is respected.

Chabunya reaffirmed her promise to continue serving Lilongwe and Malawi as she did prior to joining frontline politics and now as a politician.

She stated that the struggle for a better Malawi continues and expressed full confidence that with Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika at the helm, the nation might move toward a more positive direction than the current state of affairs.

Chabunya extended her heartfelt commiserations to UTM President Dr. Dalitso Kabambe, praising his campaign efforts and unmatched energy.

She acknowledged that the political landscape necessitates alliances that individual grit alone cannot dismantle at this time.

She also addressed SKC, calling him the MVP, and expressed hope that the events of June 10 would finally be clarified.

Chabunya concluded with a call for continued mindset change and the pursuit of the Tsogololathu dream, affirming her belief that Malawi will rise.

She thanked her supporters for their sacrifices and guidance, adding that she misses them on this journey.

Chabunya ended her message with a blessing for the nation: “God bless Malawi, TsogoloLathu Ulendo Tikafika! #LoveMalawi.”
