LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera has assented to 13 bills into law.

Presidential Press Secretary Anthony Kasunda confirmed the development in a statement issued on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

The newly assented bills including Financial Crimes Act, Penal Code Amendment Act, Mental Health Act, Tourism Act, Corrupt Practices Amendment Act, Companies Act, Construction Industry Act, Registration and Intellectual Property Centre Act, and Copyright Act.

Additionally, Chakwera also has approved Forestry Amendment Act, Marriage, Divorce, and Family Relations Act, Sugarcane Industry Act, Prisons Act, and Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development Act, which covers the construction and rehabilitation of the Mangochi-Makankira Road Project.
