LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi’s President Lazarus Chakwera will on Thursday February 3 , 2022 leave the country to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where he will attend the 35th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union ( AU).
According to the Foreign Ministry’s statement, Chakwera will depart the Kamuzu International Airport at 14: 00 hrs in the afternoon.

The Assembly, which will be held under the theme “Building resilience and nutrition of the African continent. Accelerate human capital, social and economic development” will be held at the African Union Headquarters from February 4 to February 6, 2022, and will be preceded by the African Union Statutory meetings.
During the Assembly, President of Congo Felix Antoine Tshisekedi and Chairperson of the African Union will hand over chairship of the African Union to President of Senegal Macky Sall.
On the sidelines, President Chakwera will meet in audience with the representatives of the Malawian Diaspora in the Federal Republic of Ethiopia.
The Malawi’s leader will return home on Monday February 7,2022, and the plane carrying him will land at Kamuzu International Airport at 11:00 hrs in the morning.
