LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera has delegated his deputy Saulos Chilima to attend attend the Korea-Africa Summit.
The summit is slated for June 4 to 5, 2024 in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
In press statement Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued on Friday, May 31 says Chilima will depart Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 08:10 hours.
The vice president is expected to return home on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 15:45 hours, through the same airport.
According to the statement summit will provide an opportunity for Malawi to engage with
Korean Government officials and the private sector towards win- win solutions that will build up an equal and strategic partnership between Malawi and Korea.
“The Summit will further provide an impetus to the momentum and foundation for deepening diplomatic relations of the two countries,” reads the statement in part.
Chilima delegation comes amid continued speculations that Chakwera and his deputy are not in good terms
