MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera has hailed traditional leaders in the country for the crucial role they play in assisting government in governing their respective localities.
Speaking at Inkosi Mabilabo Headquaters in Mzimba district where he met traditional leaders before proceeding to address masses at Emfeni Trading Center, Chakwera said he felt honored to be amongst the chiefs because of the huge role they play to assist government in overseeing administrative issues in their localities.
“You are one of the important people because you assist government in governing the people.
“My government will always appreciate your role,” said Chakwera.
Welcoming the head of state, Mabilabo appreciated the visit and the Presidents efforts to uplift the welfare of chiefs.
“We appreciate your visit, Your Excellency, and we believe your visit will be followed by numerous projects, including helping us with road constructions, and finishing office complex for traditional leaders in the area,” he said.
Minister of Trade and Malawi Congress Party Running Mate Vitumbiko Mumba hailed Chakwera for being a president that is trying his best to distribute resources equally in all regions of the country.
On arrival, Chakwera was welcomed by Inkosi ya Makhosi M’mbelwa V, Inkosi Mabilabo, Minister of Trade Vitumbiko Mumba, Minister of Tourism Vera Kamtukule, Minister of Justice Titus Mvalo, and District Commissioner for M’mbelwa District Council Rodgers Newa.
