LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera will this morning, Friday, May 23, 2025 leave for Harare Zimbabwe to attend attend the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCA) Summit of Heads State and Government.
According to Malawi’s Foreign Affairs Ministry statement issued on Thursday evening, Chakwera leave for Harare at Chileka International Airport in Blantyre at 06:00 hours and is expected to return home later in the day at 16:30 hours through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA).
“The Summit which will be held under the theme “Transfrontier Conservation Areas: 25 Years of Fostering Regional Integration and Sustainable Development” will bring together Heads of State and Government from the SADC region to reflect on progress, renew commitments, and chart the way forward for enhanced cross-border cooperation in biodiversity conservation, ecosystem protection, sustainable tourism, and community livelihoods,” reads the statement in part.
The statement adds, “President will hold bilateral discussions with other Heads of State and Government to continue advancing diplomatic relations and cooperation that Malawi has with other countries and discuss matters of mutual interest.
“President will depart Chileka International Airport on 23rd May, 2025, at 6:00 hours and return in the evening of the same day at 16:30 hours through Kamuzu International Airport”.
