MZIMBA-(MaraviPost)-In a poignant tribute to the late Vice President Saulos Chilima, President Lazarus Chakwera has announced that the Lilongwe Six Lane Road will be renamed “Chilima Highway”.
This decision comes as the nation continues to mourn the loss of the esteemed leader.
President Chakwera described the events surrounding Chilima’s passing as “devastating, heartbreaking, and unforgettable”.
He emphasized the importance of unity and respect, urging Malawians to come together in solidarity rather than politicizing tragedy.
The President’s announcement was made during a memorial event in Mzimba,where he paid heartfelt tribute to the late Vice President.
Chakwera’s words reflected the nation’s grief and sense of loss, as Malawians continue to process the tragedy.
Chakwera’s decision to rename the road is a fitting tribute to Chilima’s legacy, recognizing his contributions to Malawi’s development.
