Chakwera tours Central bank premises

LILONGWE-(MANA)-President Lazarus Chakwera on Friday morning visited the Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) headquarters in Lilongwe as part of activities marking the Bank’s 60th  anniversary.

Upon arrival, the President was briefed on the history of the central bank before touring four exhibition pavilions set up in the banking hall.

The displays included portraits of former RBM governors, phased-out currency notes, as well as samples of gold and other mineral stones. He also visited the currency sorting area.

Following his engagements at the Bank premises, President Chakwera is expected to proceed to the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) where he will preside over the official opening of the Economic Symposium commemorating RBM at 60.
