LILONGWE-(MANA)-President Lazarus Chakwera has commended Christ for Nations Ministries for its unwavering commitment and dedication in praying for the country’s progress.

He made the remarks on Sunday during a church  service and Golden Jubilee celebration at Christ for Nations Ministries-Lord’s Grace Cathedral in Area 25, Lilongwe.

The President emphasized that churches play an important role in ensuring their members keep faith in God in all they do. He noted that prayers are critical for every human being, as they help strengthen both physical and spiritual growth.

Chakwera also highlighted the importance of prayer as Malawi prepares for the General Elections.

“As followers of Christ, it is our responsibility to pray for the nation so that we can have peace. When the country is divided, many developments cannot take place,” he said.

He further urged Christians to continue praying for the nation, which has faced many challenges, including climate change, adding that the only way to address these problems is to first fear God.

In his sermon, Bishop Joseph Khombe said that according to the Bible, everyone has blessings that come from God. He also recalled having known Chakwera before he became President, noting that only God truly knows each person’s path.

“It is not good for people to look down on one another, as everyone’s destiny belongs to God,” Bishop Khombe added.

General Overseer  for the Christ for Nations Ministries, Prophet Foster Mbale, expressed gratitude to the President for attending the celebrations  and for the gifts he gave during the event.

He said, their aim is to let more people know God through his teachings and have morals that reflect a Godly behavior.

The Ministry was established in 2010 and operates in eight districts across Malawi, with additional branches in Mozambique, Zambia, and Tanzania.

Freedom of worship is enshrined in the country’s constitution, and President Chakwera, a devoted member of the Assemblies of God, continues to worship freely alongside various religious denominations
