Chakwera’s Tonse Govt to de-register construction companies on shady work

LILONGWE (MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera’s Tonse government is set to de-register Malawian companies and deportee international construction companies that are doing poor work to government projects.

Minister of Transport, Jacob Hara revealed this on Tuesday in the August house when responding to Zomba Malosa legislature question on the demolition of three bridge in her constituency.

Hara said government will punish all the contractors who did rough work regardless of getting enough funds from government.

He said government is loosing a lot in rehabilitating the works of poor constructors project.

The Minister said meanwhile government is waiting for the audit report to find out names of the poor companies on the ground.

In an interview with Zomba Malosa legislature Grace Mkwelepeta said three bridges were demolished in her constituency before completion.

Mkwelepeta said the three bridges namely Likonde Masapi and Nkula was built by National Roads Authority (NRA) three years ago.
