Chilima gets UTM central region committee support on MCP alliance

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-UTM party central region and on Monday, April 27, 2020 pledged total support and commitment to it’s leader Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima amid Malawi Congress Party (MCP) electoral alliance ahead of fresh presidential elections.

The pledge was made at UTM National Headquarters where the grouping met National Executive Committee led by Publicity Secretary Dr Joseph Chidanti Malunga.

Among other key party figures including Director of political affairs Anita Kalinde, Director of Economic Planning and Development Mabvuto Banda and Deputy Director of Women Anna Makuta.

The meeting meeting comes few days after four of misguided regional governors from the region joined the sinking ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

A Mr C. K Banda Mchinji district governor assured the leadership that “UTM party is much stronger than it was as Malawians seen hope in UTM leader Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima the evidence is there as more and more people are joining UTM across the country”

Echoing on the same, Salima District Governor a Mr M’manga said UTM party is gaining ground.

M’manga therefore urged fellow district leaders to unite and work hard so that Malawi usher in more capable leader into the higher office come July 2, 2020.

In his remarks a Mr Livani Lilongwe urban district governor alleged that those who left UTM part were driven by greedy and personal interest and they have since been replaced by loyal and trustworthy people.

UTM is into electoral alliance with MCP expecting to dislodge President Peter Mutharika out power.
