LILONGWE-(MaraviPost) – Since attaining multiparty democracy in 1994, Malawi politics is never run of drama after any general elections. The same old song keeps of singing without stopover.

The May 21, 2019 post elections will be in Malawi history ever after opposition parties (Malawi Congress Party and UTM) and civil rights groups (Human Rights Defenders Coalition-HRDC) gang against electoral body (Malawi Electoral Commission) for being suspected of mismanaging polls results to favour incumbent President Peter Mutharika.

Until the matter is being held in the constitutional court for verdict of whether the elections were rigged or conducted according to the will of Malawians.

We be honest, President Mutharika is a troubled man since the post elections fiasco took into course despite numerous efforts governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) propelled against legal pathway.

After exhausting political tactics to frustrate legal trail, Mutharika and his DPP leadership are left with nothing but social media buzzes.

The President is unable to meet his own people of central and northern region in fear of the rough over disputed May 21 polls.

Mutharika seems not trust anyone on leadership no wonder any effort has been made to unite party gurus ahead of either fresh elections or 2024 elections.

This is the reasons several camps have emerged in DPP; Everton Chimulirenji (supported by First Lady Gertrude Mutharika and Norman Chisale, President Mutharika board guard), Kondwani Nankhumwa (supported by most lomwe belt members of the party), Bright Msaka (supported by also Gertrude Muthalika, Bakili Muluzi senior and eastern legion party members.

However, Ben Phiri’s political ambitions hang in balance following numerous scandals is being involved into but support any decision Gertrude Mutharika makes.

Now, Chimulirenji being the second command in-chief is using all avenues to amass wealthy to advance his political agenda.

Chimulirenji is currently everywhere, even silly functions he tends to attend to been seen working while stretching his political muscle.

Imagine, the whole Vice President opening mere media training, Mosque, really? How much money is being spent over these petty functions?

No wonder, reports are over that so far he has pocketed MK100 million from public confers for petty outings.

Chimulirenji wisdom, think that attending these unnecessarily meetings, tours will win supports from within DPP and Malawians; He must forget that.

DPP is Lomwe rooted party that it doesn’t embrace other tribes or region with leadership. He must learn from Saulos Chilima who was much loved in the party but due to region and tribe, never ascended to the top.

Chilima was most powerful vice president until his effort was halted by DPP Lomwe gurus that the leadership be remained in the South.

Chimulirenji must understand that is being hoodwinked on presidency but he cannot accept this due to political blindness incarnated by Gertrude Mutharika for selfish reasons.

DPP Lomwe gurus have their own candidates to take over from Mutharika who is having sleepless nights over the elections case.

Let’s pray that there should no fresh elections, otherwise Chimulirenji’s political future will be doomed as he doesn’t hold any party portfolios after losing his Ntcheu parliamentary seat during the May 21 polls.

Any public resources plunder, Chimulirenji is being involved will hunt him soon.
