Over the past few days we have extensively discussed the issues besetting the proper functioning of Agriculture Development Marketing Corporation (ADMARC) in 2021.
In our analysis, we fail to link the current problems to the axis of evil that destroyed the institution under the watchful eyes of Bakili Muluzi and Bingu wa Mutharika.

During Bakili Muluzi era…
- Chakufwa Chihana, Minister of Agriculture
- Joyce Banda, Chairperson of ADMARC Board
- Friday Jumbe – ADMARC General Manager (before creation of CEO)….
- Mvula GM of Shire Bus lines…a company with ADMARC majority shares….Shire Bus Company receives huge funding from ADMARC to buy buses from Brasil…50 – 60 buses. Less than 10 are delivered. The same year the company collapses. ADMARC enters into deep financial crisis.
- Friday Jumbe moves to Ministry of Finance and xxx becomes the GM.
- Dumbo Lemani – Minister of Trade & Industry….commits billions of ADMARC funds into dubious trade arrangements which yielded nothing
- Sawerengera becomes GM of ADMARC at one point
Enter Bingu wa Mutharika (ADMARC is now a dead company but with a lot of its stolen funds overseas)
- Mlamba flees to Spain with billions of ADMARC funds
- Bingu seeks “peace” with Mlamba provided the loot is shared.
- Mlamba invests some of the funds in Argentina for use of Bingu
- xxx appointed GM of ADMARC while Sawerengera is moved to SH as Chief of Staff
- Sawerengera is appointed Malawi Ambassador to Brasil & Argentina – main task…access looted ADMARC funds invested in Argentina.
- Bingu appoints his nephew Namondwe to run State House
..now as a Chief of Staff.
Another Nephew of Bingu Charles Matabwa was moved to be SPC and later on moved to be CEO of Admarc, With Joyce Banda as Board Chair for some time
By now ADMARC only exists on paper…. Surviving on oxygen ventilators like a Covid19 patient
On a yearly basis, the Treasury injects some funds which are quickly looted….at the end of every year, the nation is told about the rotten maize.
This is the ADMARC we plan to resuscitate….it is a CRIME SCENE.
We may need the services of FBI, Scotland Yard & Interpol to resuscitate ADMARC.
The following must be probed:
1.Joyce Banda (JB)
2.Friday Jumbe
3.Humphrey Mvula
4.Sawerengera
5.Peter Mlamba
6.Matabwa
On the sidelines we have, Dr Makina.
Then Nasinuku Saukila as CEOs of NFRA when rotten maize became the tactic for stealing maize from Admarc and NFRA.
Kelvin Mmangisa came in as CEO for NFRA in between Saukira’s terms.
Proper checks and balances are needed to resuscitate ADMARC it can be my wish not to fund ADMARC this season till all loopholes of corrupt minds are permanently closed.
