BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-CTS Courier has equipped 30 women facing financial challenges with practical business skills during a two-day Women Business Empowerment Workshop held at Chichiri Primary School in Blantyre.
The training, which ran from Saturday to Sunday, focused on soap and glycerine production, catering, business management, branding, and marketing.
At the close of the workshop, participants received certificates along with startup capital to help launch their ventures.
Of the group, 27 women each received K100,000, while three women with physical disabilities including some widows were given MK200,000 each to help them overcome additional challenges in running businesses.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, CTS Courier General Manager, Augustine Mukisi said the initiative was designed to help women achieve self-reliance.
“We want them to use the knowledge gained here to build sustainable businesses that can improve their families’ livelihoods and contribute to the wider community,” he said.
The sessions were facilitated by business trainer Takeness Kamwaza, who emphasized that success in business requires more than just buying and selling.
“Business is also about value addition and networking. That is why we trained the women in the 4Ps of marketing Product, Price, Place, and Promotion to give them a solid foundation for growth,” she said.
On her part, one of the participants Ellen Mwachande, expressed gratitude for the opportunity noting that the workshop had been transformative.
“The training has equipped me with skills to run a business effectively and understand my target audience. I am very thankful to CTS Courier for this opportunity,” said Mwachande.
The Women Business Empowerment Workshop is part of the CTS Courier’s ongoing commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and empowering women with skills that foster independence and sustainable livelihoods.
