Short announcement from government states, Deputy Chief Secretary to Government, Willie Samute has died after a long illness.
Samute died early hours of Thursday (August 20) morning at a hospital in South Africa.
Willie Samute, acted as Malawi’s Chief Secretary to Government until he was pushed aside to continue with his role as a deputy in the office.
President Arthur Peter Mutharika then elevated former Secretary for Foreign Affairs George Mkondiwa to be the new head of the civil service.
