LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Deputy Minister of Local Government Unity and Culture Owen Chomanika has emphasised the need for local councils to enhence coordination in development projects implementation.
Chomanika was speaking during the local government quarterly coordination meeting underway in Mponera Dowa saying councils need to balance their activities by relying on each other’s responsibilities.
“Within ourselves, someone is retreating in the councils, killing innocent people who need their help,” said Chomanika.
He therefore urged council members to adhere to their roles and stop interfering with other people’s posts for the sake of coordination.
Chomanika added. “There is a need to maintain social stability in the community by providing proper services. All the councils to service their people by attending to them in time”.
He therefore urged the non governmental organization to stop wasting councils time in discussing issues that are not beneficial to communities.
