BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Desperate governing President Peter Mutharika’s Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is reportedly plotting to seek court order stopping presidential nominations presentation slated for Wednesday, May 5, 2020 at Mount Soche in Blantyre.

Source told the publication that the move is to frustrate the whole fresh presidential elections slated for July 2, 2020.

DPP and its ally Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) are now preparing papers using some bogus personality to seek a court order so that the nomination process starting tomorrow can be stopped.

The party is against the whole process and afraid of the UTM and Malawi Congress Party (MCP) alliance.

DPP strongly believed that there will be no Fresh Presidential Elections. Kalekeni Kalephera told them so.

“The release of the Presidential Nomination Forms Schedule by their cousin, MEC, has hit them hard more than the ConCourt ruling. Reality is now sinking in them.

“They have planned to get an Injuction against the Presidential Nomination Forms Submissions today, May 5, 2020 at 4:45pm,” added the source.

In that way, the other parties will find it hard to have it quashed. They have already shopped a Cadetish Judge.

“Money has been released and they are using Tamando Chokoto to doing the documents before they find a lawyer who can be fronted, other than this Bryan Magowa aka Bonoke”, discloses the source within DPP.

The sources added that the move comes amid President Mutharika’s failure to choose a runningmate for the polls.

“Mutharika is at the corner now on who to choose for the runningmate Atupele Muluzi is not automatic with the possibility of taking Everton Chimulirenji again but due to his unpopularity likely Henry Chimunthu Banda is being tipped for runningmate.

“DPP senior political presidential advisor Francis Mpepho that has summoned Chimulilenji to Sanjika Palace for an audience at 4 pm on Wednesday this week. The presidential aid further clarified that the is no other planned audience for the president until after his presentation of nomination paper to MEC on Thursday this week”, disclosed the source.

But DPP spokesperson Nicholas Dausi describe such rumours utter nonsense.
