Sarah Barrass, 35, and Brandon Machin, 39, have been sentenced to life in jail for killing their two sons Tristan and Blake Barrass.
The pair admitted to have killed their sons through strangulation after failed ADHD tablets when they were forced to take against their will. The pair that had six children before the two were killed also tried to kill the other remaining children by attempting to drown them in a bath.
In her defence, Sarah who was in sexual affair with his brother, Brandon said she needed help with the kids but no ones showed up despite several attempts to ask help from local authorities and she killed her two sons so they should not be taken away from her into home care.
As quoted by The Guardian, Sarah said: “I love my kids too much to kill them. I can’t put them into care for the same reason.”
During sentence, the judge charged the couple to life in jail for two counts of murder, conspiracy to murder six children, and five counts of attempted murder.
