I know it’s early in the morning but I hate it when people write, “Malawi, Africa” or “(Any African Country), Africa” in news articles or on tweets – like they are referencing, “city, state/country”.
Do the same folks write “France, Europe”, “USA, North America” , “China, Asia” , or “Jamaica, South America” when they write about those other places?
One should be able to consistently just write the country name across the board without qualifying” where it is”. If folks don’t know which continent a country is they should look it up or read the rest of the story/paragraph to get a clue or move to a schools system where they teach geography.
