BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-DMI ST Jonh the Baptist Blantyre campus in collaboration with Ticia counseling centre on Friday, December 1, 2021 graduated over 84 students in various programs..
A total of 84 students from class of July to December have received their certificates, with 58 students for counseling and phychotherapy, while 26 were got theirs for H.I.V/ AIDS testing services.
In her remarks,Ticia counseling centre managing director Patricia Singini stated that they decided to come up with the program after noting that issues of mental health are so enomious due to pressure and stress among some factors.
In his remarks DMI St John the Baptist technical advisor, Professor Golden Msilimba said that as DMI ST Jonh the baptist, their main focus is to address mental health issues and urged the public to seek help from professionals whenever they face some challenges.
He further urged other public and private Universities to consider introducing new programs that can combat emerging issues, like mental health.
Professor Msilimba also revealed that DMI ST Jonh the Baptist will shortly introduce degree programs, namely bachelor’s of science in professional therapy and bachelor’s of science in counseling.
