LILONGWE (Maravipost): The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has vowed to adhere to the electoral law, urging Malawians to remain calm as they await the official election results.
The DPP’s commitment to the law comes as tensions rise amid speculation over the election outcome.
Speaking during a press briefing, DPP senior official Jean Mathanga, a former Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) commissioner, emphasized that the law is clear and binding for all.

Mathanga called on Malawians to exercise patience, stressing that the electoral process is designed to ensure fairness and transparency.
DPP Organizing Secretary Sammer Suleiman criticized MCP’s Vitumbiko Mumba, suggesting he should slow down due to his position as an independent candidate who was denied by his own party.
“An independent candidate who is currently running mate denied by his own party, what can he say? For his sanity, let him back down.”Suleiman.
When questioned about vote manipulation, DPP’s Central Region Vice President Alfred Gangsta stated that the MCP would explain their claims of DPP rigging at the appropriate time.
Meanwhile, DPP’s
Campaign Director for Women, Mary Navisha, challenged President Lazarus Chakwera, also an MCP leader and pastor, to reflect on his performance, referencing Exodus 14.
The DPP’s stance underscores its commitment to upholding the law, even as the blame game escalates ahead of the official announcement of election results .
