Dzinkambani bemoans Karonga United’s wastefulness

By Lusekero Mhango

KARONGA-(MaraviPost)-Karonga United coach Dan Dzinkambani has said his strikers must be more ruthless in front of goal if they are to turn their dominance in matches into wins.

The Karonga based outfit’s tactician made the call on Sunday when he was reacting to his side’s defeat to Kamuzu Barracks in a TNM Super League encounter played at the Karonga Stadium where his charges failed to capitalize on chances that they created in the loss.

The result also continued the Crocodiles of Karonga’s barren spell in front of goal where they have failed to score from open play in five successive games with their only two goals in that run all coming from the spot-kick in their wins over Mzuni Fc and Civil Sporting Club respectively.

Speaking in an interview Dzinkambani, said there was need for his forward line to sharpen up their techniques when presented with a shooting opportunity on goal.

“As a coach I’m really happy with our performances we are carving out a lot of chances for ourselves with the only issue remaining is our finishing and composure in front of goal hence we have to find solutions to that as a technical panel,” he said.

Adding, that coordination among players is also really important hence will also be working on this to find more sspace on the pitch when attacking.

“Goals are everything to a football match as they decide the points and wins and this stage we should have more points in the bag in the league if it was not for our profligacy but we will work on it and goals will come,” vowed Dzinkambani.

Currently Karonga United sit ninth in the 16 team member league with 25 points from 20 matches and are next in action over the weekend when they face two tricky assignments away to Silver Strikers on Saturday and Masters Security on Sunday Respectively
